Friendsgiving
Hey Academy!
We are excited to inform you all that we will be hosting our annual Friendsgiving on Wednesday, November 13th from 2-3 PM in the cafeteria. Join us in celebrating our diverse Thanksgiving customs by trying various dishes and taking part in a Respect for All Event, creating leaves of gratitude, that will be held in tandem.
Tickets to attend are $5 and can be purchased in room 111 or from any student government member, but they will be $7 at the door.
If you are interested in donating a dish from your culture, you will have the opportunity to gain up to 5 community service hours as well as free entry to the event! Please be sure to fill out the donation google form by November 11th. Donations are to be dropped off during periods 1 and 4 on the day of the event. Google Form: https://forms.gle/wKRVEiKMK3tbxUxq5
We hope to see you there!
Best,
Friendsgiving Committee

GILDER LEHRMAN FLAGSHIP HIGH SCHOOL
The Academy was the first American history high school in the country created in 1996 with the cooperation and partnership of the Queens High Schools Superintendency and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. We are recognized as the flagship high school of the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American history and the institute has taken the model of the Academy and duplicated it all across the country.

FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH
You do not need to apply for your child to receive meals. However, we do ask families to complete the Family Income Inquiry Form which helps schools receive money for their programs. Your school will send a copy of this form home with your child, or you can get it from your school’s main office.
