    Friendsgiving

    Hey Academy!

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our annual Friendsgiving on Wednesday, November 19th, from 2-3 PM in the cafeteria! Join us to celebrate Thanksgiving at Academy, enjoy meals from different cultures, and spread gratitude.

To enter, tickets will be $5 and can be purchased in room 111 or from a student government member. Spots are limited at this event, so first-come, first-served! Make sure to purchase your ticket as soon as you can!

If you are interested in donating a dish from your culture, you will have the opportunity to receive 3 hours of community service as well as free entry to the event! If you choose to donate a dish, please make sure you bring your homemade food in an aluminum 9x13 dish. Please make sure to fill out and submit the donation Google form by November 17th, and have a post-it of the dish name and ingredients on the dish. Donations can be dropped off in room 111 during 1st or 4th periods.

We hope to see you there!

    Sincerely,
    Friendsgiving Committee

Free American History Courses For High School Students - Sponsored by Gilder Lehrman

GILDER LEHRMAN FLAGSHIP HIGH SCHOOL

The Academy was the first American history high school in the country  created in 1996 with the cooperation and partnership of the Queens High Schools Superintendency and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. We are recognized as the flagship high school of the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American history and the institute has taken the model of the Academy and duplicated it all across the country.

FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH

You do not need to apply for your child to receive meals. However, we do ask families to complete the Family Income Inquiry Form which helps schools receive money for their programs. Your school will send a copy of this form home with your child, or you can get it from your school’s main office.
