Course Offerings and Opportunities for the 2025-2026 School Year
"Congratulations to the Academy of American Studies which has been named to the 2024 AP School Honor Roll. Academy of American Studies is a GOLD member of Honor Roll! Academy of American Studies had 72% of seniors who took at least one AP exam during high school, 47% of seniors scoring three or higher on at least one AP exam, and 13% of seniors who took five or more exams. Way to go Eagles!
Congratulations to the following students for their success at the New York CIty History Day Awards at the Center For Brooklyn History!
11th graders Sumaiya Monnan, Mantasha Maliha, Maesha Rahman and Gina Naula came 3rd in the City for their group exhibit board Catastrophe of the Tenement.
11 grader Erika Ofori-Amanfo came 3rd in the City for her individual documentary A Reclamation of the Narrative: The Blaxploitation Movement.
10 grader Joanna Mora came 1st in the City for her individual exhibit board It Weirdly Started at White Castle. Joanna will be moving on to the New York State Contest in Oneonta in April.
Each year, National History Day® frames students’ research within a historical theme. The theme is chosen for broad application to world, national, or state history and its relevance to ancient history or to the more recent past. The 2023-2024 theme is Turning Points in History.
