SAT SCHOOL DAY SCHEDULE

April 9th is a full attendance day for all students using the following schedule:
 
9th Graders: 11:30am - 3:00pm - Students will be attending an indoor Eagle Field Day in the gym. Students should wear appropriate clothing for this as well as sneakers.
 
10th Graders:  9:30 am - 2:15 pm (contingent on test end time) --PSAT (Rooms to be determined.)
 
11th Graders 8:30am - 1:15pm (contingent on test end time) --SAT (Rooms to be determined.)

12th Graders 7:30am - 11:15am Senior Meeting & Graduation Assembly (Cafeteria) led by Ms. Toro, Mr. Guilford, Ms. Pereyra, Ms. Klages, and Ms. Mema
 
Lunch will be provided as a grab and go option as students are dismissed.

Our school will be offering the PSAT to all 10th grade students and the SAT to all 11th grade students during the school day on Wednesday, April 9 , 2025 for FREE.

The PSAT and SAT are nationally recognized tests and are an important step towards college.  The PSAT provides information on students’ strengths and weaknesses in reading, math, and writing. The SAT is an important step in your child’s college application process, and is required for admission to some 4-year colleges and universities.

We hope this PSAT/SAT administration will allow you and your child an opportunity to discuss their goals about college and their future career paths after high school.

SAT PREP SPRING 2025 FOR JUNIORS

The Academy of American Studies will be offering an SAT Prep class beginning Friday, January 10th. The classes will be 2 hours long (from 3:15 pm - 5:15 pm) on the below Friday dates.
 
  1. Friday, January 10 
  2. Friday, January 31
  3. Friday, February 7
  4. Friday, February 14
  5. Friday, February 28
  6. Friday, March 7
  7. Friday, March 14
  8. Friday, March 28
  9. Friday, April 4 
The in school SAT will be given the week of April 7th.
You must commit to attending all 9 sessions.  If you cannot attend for any reason, you must e-mail Ms. Castrillon at KCastrillon@schools.nyc.gov as soon as possible, preferably before class.  You will be required to bring a note from your parent/guardian about your absence from the class to Ms. Castrillon on the next school day (or prior if you know of your absence in advance).  Those of you on teams or in clubs will need to re-arrange your schedule to accommodate the SAT class.
We have a limited number of seats for this preparation class that will be assigned on a first come first served basis (with Juniors taking preference). 
Requirements:
1. Must have submitted a physical blue card to the main office. (Blank forms can be found in Room 101)
2. 90% school attendance as of 12/1/2024
3. Submitted a meal form. (Blank forms can be found in Room 101 or online at MySchoolapps.com)
4. Guardians have created a NYC DOE NYCSA account and a Jupiter Ed account. (See Ms. Martinez-Vega in Room 104 or Ms. Alaimo in Room 101.
Please complete the survey to share your interest in attending this program by Monday, January 6th 12 Noon. 
You will get a commitment letter (to your DOE email) if you meet all requirements and are chosen to participate in the classes by Tuesday, January 7th. Your parent/guardian will also need to sign the commitment letter and return it no later than Wednesday, January 8th to Ms. Alaimo in Room 101.
