First Day of the New Building

LOCKERS!!!

Dear Academy Students and Families,
 
Now that we are all acquainted and comfortable in our new building the time has come to assign lockers to students.  There are a few requirements to have a locker at the school:
  • Your attendance must be 90% or higher
  • You must not have Cuts
  • No Deans record or any history of negative interactions with the dean's office
  • You must use a lock sold in Student Government. You can get one at the start /end of your day or during your lunch.
  • Locker numbers will be assigned.  No switching lockers with anyone for any reason.
Any student assigned a locker will have to submit the signed contract to Ms. Ortiz in the main office room 101 before they can use the locker.  This step needs to be done first before anyone is allowed to start using their locker.  We will then begin to give students access to their assigned locker during their PE period.  Zip ties will be removed, and locks can be placed on assigned lockers. 
 
If by Tuesday 3/22 you have not been notified of a locker number that means you have not met the requirements above.

25 Years In The Making

New Building Update

Academy of American Studies will be moving into our new building on February 28th!

Our last day in our current buildings will be February 18th.

Over Mid-Winter Break, The Office of Space Planning will be moving our school into the new building.​

For the spring semester, students will follow the schedules that they received on Monday, January 31st until Friday, February 18th. On February 18th, students will receive schedules with updated room numbers for the new building. 

Until February 18th, Lunch B will eat lunch in our current space and the auditorium. Once in our new building, half of our students will eat lunch in our new cafeteria and half of our students will eat lunch in supervised classrooms. This is only for the spring semester and ensures that we will keep our schedule! Lunchroom schedules will be adjusted for the 2022-2023 academic school year. 

Students will be receiving lockers! Thank you for your patience and understanding as we finalize the details.

The Welcoming Committee is currently planning events to welcome us all into the new building! One of our first few events will be an Art Exhibition: New Beginnings and our multicultural Food Festival with cultural dances. Please stay tuned for more information!
